Plateau Hébert à anses, second size

Dark blue (beau bleu) ground, in the centre a scene of a shepherd and shepherdess in a landscape. Rich gilding of palms, leaf trails, scrolls and dots. Length 30.4 cm, width 23.0 cm. Interlaced Ls, date-letter S for 1771, painter’s mark A for Charles-Éloi Asselin.

Provenance: With Duveen in London in 1900, stated to come from the Webb collection.
